Tucked into the countryside of south-west France, Château Mondenard is the home of Australian artists Tim Maguire and Adrienne Gaha. A stone house that already carried its own beauty, and which they had the grace to leave intact, adding their own hand without ever overwriting it.
The spirit of the South
What struck me was the light through the linen, the patina of the stone, the pieces gathered from elsewhere and given a place here. Nothing is decorated; everything is seen. It is a house composed by people whose profession is to look, and it shows in every corner, in the restraint as much as in the choice.
Long family summers
This is a place for long family summers and the memories they leave behind. Two artists who translated their love of art into a home, and in doing so preserved something essentially, quietly French.
